Who Is Eligible

All covered members are eligible for the Burial Benefit.

What Is The Benefit

The Welfare Fund will provide $500 toward the funeral expenses of a Fund member. The Burial Benefit is payable on behalf of a deceased Fund member to the person responsible for funeral expenses, or it may be paid directly to the funeral home. The Burial Benefit is payable in addition to the Life Insurance Benefit provided by the Welfare Fund.

How To Obtain The Benefit

In the event of the death of a Fund member, the Fund office should  be notified immediately at (212)777-9000 Ext. 3033 or 3063 so that the Welfare Fund can give prompt attention to the claim.
